Library Rules
The college library houses approximately 20,000 books and several reference materials.
To obtain library membership, every student must pay a refundable deposit of ₹50. Students who do not return library books or settle dues will have the cost of the books recovered from their deposit. (As per Government Resolution dated 29-11-2000.)
Students must present their Identity Card and Library Card when borrowing books. Books will not be issued without these cards.
A duplicate library card can be issued upon payment of ₹2 at the office in case the original is lost.
Books must be returned on or before the due date. A fine of ₹1 per day per book will be charged for delays.
Students must check the condition of books while borrowing them. Any damage found later will be considered the borrower’s responsibility, and they must compensate as per library instructions.
If a book is lost or damaged, the student must either replace the book or pay its cost along with the fine. Otherwise, a replacement copy must be provided.
Students must not mark, underline, or write anything in the books. If found guilty, they will be fined as decided by the library or the principal.
The library remains closed on government holidays. On Saturdays, the library will remain open only for half the day. Library hours will be notified on the notice board.
For B.A., B.Com., B.Sc. and similar courses, a refundable library deposit of ₹50 must be paid at the time of admission. Students must reclaim their deposit within three years after completing their studies; otherwise, the deposit will be forfeited and books purchased from the fund.
Before examinations, all students must return all library books. Books will not be issued during examination periods.
A fine will be imposed for not returning books before the examination.
